2012 Grant Application
Please find below the first phase of the MCVB grant process. Please fill out the grant application below. Once the application is submitted, the second phase of the grant process will be the submission of support materials and additional documentation. This information will be available once the application has been officially submitted to the MCVB. The MCVB will accept online applications until 5:00 p.m. on April 10, 2012. You should plan to complete the online application at one session--the information you input to the form CANNOT be saved, then completed at a later time.

In two or three sentences explain what the project or event is intended to accomplish, the benefits to the community and the activities that will lead to the desired outcome. If the request is for a capital expense, please explain how the purchase will benefit the community.
Please answer the following:
1. What is the amount of total "room nights" that your event will produce for Middletown hotels? Note: total room nights is calculated by multiplying the number of guest rooms times the number of nights the group will be staying at various Middletown hotels. For example a group of eight visitors each get his/her own hotel room (eight rooms total) for a stay on Saturday and Sunday night. These eight vistors produced sixteen "room nights."
2. How many visitors do you expect your event to attract?
3. How many visitors do you expect to attract to your event from outside the Middletown area?
4. How will you track/count attendees, and how will you verify which attendees are from outside Middletown?
5. What type of economic impact to the community do you expect?
Example: The potential for visitors to spend money locally on shopping, gas, and other expenditures.

Please give specific details on where the grant dollars will be spent, with dollar amounts. You may need to attach a separate sheet for this information. Remember that your Economic Impact Report must match your documentation on this grant. Examples: Print advertising, TV, Radio, Website, etc.
